This week’s challenge for Sunday stills was Rays of Sunshine. With the weather we’ve been having and everything going on in our lives, those haven’t been really easy to come by. So, a few days ago when I actually saw some rays of sunshine, I hurried outside to get them while they were still around.
I’m sure other people have seen more sun than I have this week. Head on over to Sunday stills to check it out.
A break in the rain we’ve been having all week. And some pretty rays too.
No fancy settings: f/9.0, 18mm, 1/250s and ISO100. This was point and shoot.
And here’s another picture of sun rays, taken back in early July. I’d read somewhere that you had to use a high aperture setting if you wanted to get the children’s drawings effect of rays shining out from the sun. So I tested different aperture settings and this one with aperture f/18.0 turned out the best. (Other settings are 18mm, 1/320s and ISO100)

Glad you had some sun this week. I love the second effect, I might have to try that, its neat.
Nice shots! Thanks for sharing the information on how you got them as well.
Nice shots.
Excellent shots, especially the first one..:-)
Great sun rays. I really like both shots.
Nice sun rays. We will be surprised if we use many modes to capture the same subject.
