Last Saturday we took Solan for a stroll around our parking lot. The whole walk was probably around 100 meters (around 320 feet) and took 45 minutes as Solan had to investigate everything. Here are some of the photos taken during those 45 minutes.
Solan is checking out the area, slightly annoyed at Kristin who’s trying to control him a bit.
There were other people and animals outside too. The dog was more interested in meeting Solan than Solan was in meeting it. The two boys were playing some kind of game on the rocks, and someone was working on the boat that came around the cape from Eidsvåg.
There were so many interesting smells for Solan to check out. Sometimes we had a hard time getting him to move forward at all. At other times he was moving at a good pace. Sometimes he had to be carried.
Being carried was ANNOYING!
While all this was going on I was keeping busy taking photos of plants. I had my macro lens on and was ready to play.
The two different sets of white flowers are the same kind, I don’t know what they’re called, but if you look into the centre of them you can see that they are at different stages in their life.
The last photo is of some cute pink flowers right outside our door. I don’t know what they are either, but I’m amazed at how many different shades of pink they come in.
To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme you must post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken and then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky at that Saturdays Snapshot post at At Home With Books. Photos can be old or new, and can be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. All Alyce asks is that you don’t post random photos that you find online.

Wow, I wish our cat would let us put him on a leash. Tried it once and he went crazy.
Beautiful cat! And great macro shots, my macro setting is my fave on my camera.
What a lovely array of photos!
That cat’s expressions range from annoyed to pissed off…lol
You have lovely scenery to enjoy! Thanks for sharing.
Here’s MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT
I would love to have a better camera some day, your photos turned out so nice! Sounds like you had a nice day.
I’ve thought of trying to get our cats to walk on leashes. I don’t hold out a lot of hope.
Here’s Mine
Fantastic photos. Putting a collar on our cat was hard enough! We did try a lead on one cat we had years ago – he hated it! We’ve never tried since.
Lovely views and flowers! Elegant cat. Remind me, where is Solan?
Solan (our cat) is named after a movie character in a very popular Norwegian movie. So, not a where, but a who.
What great nature photos and loved the expression on Solan’s face!
Here is my Saturday Snapshot post!
Cats on leashes always crack me up. especially on a regal looking cat like yours!
Wonderful pictures! I can’t imagine my cat allowing us to walk it. She is very independent.
What a beautiful cat – and he looks so well behaved. Our’s wouldn’t let us put a lead on him, that’s for sure! My Snapshot is http://goo.gl/vTUc8
What a wonderful place to explore! I think Solan did pretty well on that leash. Your macro photos are beautiful. You could make them into post cards
What a gorgeous cat! I’m impressed you can get him on a leash at all. And I love that “annoyed” picture–so much expression!
Beautiful, beautiful pictures! In that first picture, Solan’s eyes look so very blue. Really, quite vivid.
Here’s my Snapshot.
Love Sloan being carried! What a beautiful cat.
I love watching cats on a lead, glad he had a nice walk. I love the macro photos at the end too- particularly that last one, how gorgeous is that flower? Stunning
Hei på deg, Eva!
Flotte bilder, og ikke minst; for en fantatsisk utsikt dere har
Solan er rett og slett helskjønn! Vakre blå øyne…
Den siste blomsten med alle rosafargene er en staude. Har samme sorten i steinbedet her.
So many beautiful photos! It’s great that you are able to take the cat out. We have a harness for our cat but he doesn’t care for it and generally we have to carry him instead so we don’t do it often.
He’s not thrilled with it, but accepts it. But, we don’t expect to get very far on these outings. Cat walking is very different from dog walking.
It seems so funny to see a cat on a leash! I love the macro shots!
Very interesting to see a cat on a leash. Do you walk him often? Really enjoyed the pix of your surroundings. Beautiful flowers and love the water!
It looks as though many people were out enjoying a beautiful day!
I love to photograph wildflowers and had to purchase some reference books so I would know what they are. (I always get asked… as though I’m the wildflower authority!)
I might have to do the same.
Lovely shots. I have a 15 lb male cat that I don’t know I could keep on a leash either.
Beautiful flower shots.
I am amazed that Solan tolerates a leash. Well, he doesn’t look all that happy about it, but at leaset he gets to go outside. I like to take closeups of flowers too… and I don’t always take a photo of the entire plant so I can never figure out what kind of flower it was.
